몰타 대학은 몰타에서 유일한 종합대학입니다. 학사, 석사, 박사 과정으로 진학 할 수 있으며 영어로 공부합니다. 때문에 영어성적이 필수적으로 필요합니다. 한국과 달리 영국, 몰타 등 영어권은 대부분 9월 학기가 시작입니다. 때문에 한국에서 12월에 마지막 학기를 마치고 2월에 졸업할 경우 여전히 영어를 준비 할 수 있는 시간이 있습니다. 


학부의 경우 2년 미만의 IELTS 종합 평균 점수 6.0, 석사는 6.5 이상의 성적이 필요합니다. 국제학생을 위한 몰타의 홈페이지는 상당히 잘 되어 있습니다. 입학을 희망하는 학생은 아래의 연락처로 연락하여 입학에 필요한 사항, 어드미션 프로세스 등 입시요강에 대해서 안내 받을 수 있습니다.

Secure English Language Test


The language of instruction at the University of Malta is English. Applicants who have completed their secondary education overseas are obliged to satisfy the University’s English Language requirement by presenting a Secure English Language Test (SELT) result at the required levels.


The following are the main Examining Boards recognised by the University for this purpose.

* For Junior College, pre-degree and Foundation courses:

            IELTS:      5.0 in the reading and writing components

            TOEFL:     Internet-Based Test (iBT): a writing score of at least 17


** For Undergraduate Courses: 

            IELTS:      no less than 6.0 in Writing and no less than 5.5 in every other element

            TOEFL:     Internet-Based Test (iBT): a writing score of at least 20


*** For Postgraduate Courses:

            IELTS:      a minimum of 6.0 in each element

            TOEFL:     Internet-Based Test (iBT): a writing score of at least 24


**** Cambridge Certificates:  a pass at a Grade C or better is required.


† Academic IELTS


Applicants for all Postgraduate courses offered by the Department of English, Faculty of Arts commencing in October 2014 or later, who are not in possession of a degree deemed comparable, in content and level to the degrees required in Bye-Law 4, by the Faculty Admissions Committee, must present a SELT result with either a writing score of 7.5 (or higher) in the writing element and no less than 6.5 in any other element in IELTS or a writing score of 29 (or higher) in TOEFL (iBT). Applicants may also present a Cambridge English Proficiency Advanced Certificate at Grade C (or higher).


TOEFL and IELTS score reports will only be valid if issued within 2 years from the date of commencement of the course at the University of Malta.


The test result must be obtained by the following dates:-


For admission to courses commencing in October by 30 September

For admission to limited number courses commencing in October by 31 August

For admission to courses commencing in February by 31 January

For admission to limited number courses commencing in February by 31 January


If the test result is not submitted by these dates, applicants will not be admitted to the course even if all other entry requirements are satisfied.


For courses leading to Master's courses by Research, the pass in the Secure English Language Test will be required before commencement of the course.


Applicants for the Ph.D. programme are required to submit a pass in the Secure English Language Test before commencement of studies.
